Dear American Airlines...

http://dustincurtis.com/dear_american_airlines.html

Mr Curtis employs a lot of hyperbole in his assessment, saying the company is "permanently destroying the brand and image" and asking AA to "treat this as a serious emergency across your entire company." But, anyway, a really interesting look at web design, user readability, and corporate politics.

Who is Chris Hansen?

http://www.ijsfontein.nl/
I like the type, big, bold, and straight to the point.

http://www.pallian.com/
Overall design is so so, but the header is flippin nice.

Chris Hansen is the predator.

I liked the color scheme and the subtle decorative touches.

I looked at the layout of this one and the newspaper style layout works very well with the design.

Inspirations.

My Inspiration

http://www.adventurehere.com/
http://artgeex.com/v6/
http://www.designspongeonline.com/

I really found inspiration on these websites through their different styles. I really was interested about the artgeex website and their paper/ collage motif. On the design sponge I liked how they used different fabrics as textures. Adventure here inspired my second page with the taped paper.
Hope this helps!

on this site i liked the paper behind the image with the torn edge and simple layout.

on this site i liked the simple layout and the colors used.

How I Got What I Did Do Done

- I used this site as a basis for font idea and size as well as font relevance
-I also liked the way the page was divided

http://radio.nymoon.com/
-I used this as a basic for coloring

-this would be my guide if i wanted to move from

-where i went when i needed a break to save my sanity specifically:
- that baby that dances to single ladies
- the taylor swift rap
- the billy mays parodies
- jon lajoie
- and much more!

Website Inspiration

Vintage look
http://www.coalmarch.com/

I liked this websites feel and tone. I tried to implement a vintage feel by dealing with color and design in the site. I liked the way this site had little border art, and an older feel.

http://www.jeffsarmiento.com/

I really like the usage of color on this site, and I attempted to use similar techniques and styles. I liked the green and red used here, and wanted to do something similar.

Grunge look

http://www.jessestephens.com/

I really like the broken type line/decorative art here, so I tried to add some of those elements into my grungy sites.

http://www.subdued.net/

Although this site isn't functional, it still has the dirty and earthy elements in the background that I pulled from.

http://www.edgepointchurch.com/

I really liked this site, and the way everything is layered on it. I didn't want to put as many of the layered effects (as in the post its, paper clip, guitar pick etc).

Website Inspiration

For my inspiration I used a couple different websites from webdesignerwall.com. My first mock-up I used the grunge website www.markhadley.com

For my second website I used a little bit from both "Handwritten Notes" and "Collage" to create something a little different. Inspiration came from both www.viget.com/advance/ as well as artgeex.com/v6/

Website Inspiration

http://www.viget.com/inspire/

This one had a layering affect that works well with the watercolor theme and background that adds another subtle repetitive element, both of which I tried to duplicate in my website mockup.

http://www.basmatitree.net/

This is a combination of retro and grunge. I tried to play up the retro feel with similar curving lines overlaid with the splatters and unusual grungy fonts.

These are a few more I looked at but didn't use as a theme. The photoshop one also has some cool tutorials.

Funkified

Inspiration:
Complementary colors.
Call to action buttons.
Framed photos.
Overall funky-ness.

debusk

grunge- the imagery that is not contained at the top of the page.. i wanted some part of my page to also not have any container.

http://freelancefolder.com/category/inspiration/
big text- my inspiration from this is not actually the type, but the use of subtle gradients. i pushed that farther.

Cake!

http://cakephp.org/

What I enjoy most about this site:
It is organized and funky - at the same time!

Inspiration:
Use of complementary colors.
Uneven lines to make more interesting and "retro" feeling.
I used a similar font in my designs

Mockup inspiration

http://www.ernesthemingwaycollection.com/

I used a similar color scheme and fonts in my vintage design.

http://jessestephens.com/

Again I used a similar color schemes, and also used this to get ideas for what kinds of patterns to use in the big background and how to make the navigation bar more interesting.

Inspiration

http://rediswhite.com/

My first design I used how they made the headers and subheads really big and I also used the team idea.

my information bar on my second design was also inspired by this website.

my second design, second page is inspired by this websites drop down.

Links of inspiration...

Here is a site I used for inspiration for my collage/handwritten look:

I found the torn notes, paper clips, pieces of paper, etc. to be a starting point for how I put together my page.

For my second theme, I used the following site for inspiration:

I am using the splatter technique with some grunge-like elements
