This website shows step by step how to create a CSS photo gallery with vertical thumbnails. I found this interesting because I thought it might be a nice feature on a portfolio page or something like that. The nice thing about it is that the code didn't seem too complicated. It might even be something you'd be able to modify to work exactly how you want it to size and shape-wise. Enjoy!
